IRIS VAN HERPEN

Since launching her brand in 2007, Iris van Herpen has established herself as one of the most innovative and visionary designers of her generation.

Driven by a fascination with movement, architecture, and the human body, she creates spectacular and singular pieces that merge couture craftsmanship with cutting-edge technologies. Her work, acclaimed worldwide, explores the boundaries between art, science, and fashion through 3D printing, biomimicry, and scientific research.

This hybrid approach has led her to collaborate with artists and scientists such as visual artist Bart Hess, architect Julia Koerner, and researchers at CERN, pushing fashion into new intellectual and sensory realms.

Her sculptural creations have been worn by iconic figures like Björk, Beyoncé, and Lady Gaga, and exhibited in major cultural institutions, including the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, which dedicated a retrospective to her work in 2023, showcasing 100 of her most emblematic pieces.

Iris van Herpen continues to shape her vision of couture by fusing art, science, and technology with exceptional artisanal skill. Her creations go far beyond garments—they are living structures that explore movement, metamorphosis, and the invisible forces of nature.

She embodies a new vision of haute couture: technological, sustainable, and deeply poetic. From the very beginning, she has positioned herself at the crossroads of disciplines, drawing inspiration from biology, physics, architecture, and the natural world.

In 2014, she received the ANDAM Fashion Award, recognizing her pioneering approach and supporting her interdisciplinary research.
