LIGIA DIAS
After graduating the Graphic Design School of Lausanne (ECAL) in Switzerland, Ligia comes over to Paris to study the fashion design at the Studio Berçot.
After three years of a rewarding collaboration with Lanvin, she launched her own brand.
Ligia Dias’s work takes its inspiration from the “modern postulate”, and more precisely Bauhaus’s one. Based on this ideal, she aspires to work with poor materials, industrial standars, twisted with what she calls “the luxurious image”.
Thus, she perpetuates Anni Albers or Madelein Vionnet’s approaches: “My work is like Coco Chanel and Max Bill taking a drive in a 530 Matra customized by Sonia Delaunay”.
Ligia Dias received a €20.000 grant from ANDAM in 2009.
