ANTHONY VACCARELLO

Born in Belgium and of Italian descent, Anthony Vaccarello showed an early interest in fashion, particularly in dressing strong, confident women.

He studied fashion design at the prestigious La Cambre school in Brussels, graduating with distinction. His graduation collection was presented in 2006 at the International Festival of Fashion in Hyères, in the south of France, where it won the Grand Prix.

Following this success, Vaccarello joined Karl Lagerfeld at Fendi, where he specialized in fur design. He later launched his own label and unveiled his first women’s collection in January 2009.

Since March 2011, he has been presenting his collections during Paris Fashion Week. In July 2011, he was awarded the prestigious ANDAM Fashion Award, receiving a €200,000 grant to support the growth of his brand.

In 2023, Anthony Vaccarello was named “Designer of the Year” at the Belgian Fashion Awards, in recognition of his outstanding work as Creative Director of Saint Laurent, a position he has held since 2016. Under his direction, the house has experienced remarkable growth, reaching €3.3 billion in revenue, making it the fastest-growing brand within the Kering group.

That same year, he launched Saint Laurent Productions, the brand’s film division, which debuted three films at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival: The Shrouds by David Cronenberg, Parthenope by Paolo Sorrentino, and Emilia Pérez by Jacques Audiard. This bold initiative reflects Vaccarello’s desire to merge fashion and cinema, while expanding the cultural footprint of Saint Laurent.
